to You, a reward for him and a right due to him, and give him the means of mediation, excellence and the praiseworthy station which You promised him. Your blessings to our master Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), the master of the Messengers, and the Messenger of the Lord of the worlds, the Leader to the good, the Opener of godliness, the Prophet of mercy and the Master of the community. O ALLAH, raise him up to a praiseworthy station bringing him near and delight him with that in which the first and last delight. O ALLAH, give him favour, excellence, honour, the means of mediation, the high and lofty degree. O ALLAH, give our master Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), the means of mediation, give him what he hopes for, and make him the first intercessor and the first sought after intercessor. O ALLAH, bless our master Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), the light of lights, the mystery of mysteries, the master of the righteous, the adornment of the Messengers; reward him with a blessing which is constant, lasting as long as the Kingdom of ALLAH, the One, the Victorious. O ALLAH, I ask of You by our master Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), Your Prophet, bless him and grant him peace, so that by him You save us from going astray. O Most Merciful of the merciful” – (Imam al-Jazuli (1465 CE). Dalail u’l Khayraat, Fes, Morocco (15th century); tr. by S. H. Rosowsky, NonBooksPress, Inc., USA, pp. 67-8).
In addition, the Hadith of Dirimi confirms to us that the Messenger of ALLAH (Sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said, “The first light which ALLAH created was My light.” When Adam got to heaven he found Muhammad’s (Peace Be Unto Them) name on ALLAH’s Throne and engraved everywhere. Adam (Peace Be Unto Him) asked, “Who then is this Muhammad (Peace Be Unto Him)”? ALLAH answered, “He is thy descendant, and but for him, I should not have created thee.”
Verily, the Almighty ALLAH is an Incomparable Light; the soul of the Prophet Muhammad (Sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) is the splendid glow of that Light, while the Angels are the sparks of that resplendent light. Almighty ALLAH first created my light (i.e. Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Unto Him) light) and from this light, He created everything else – (See: Allama Faasi. Mutaali-ul-Musarrat, has recorded the following Hadith from Imam Ash’ari (radi Allahu anhu)).
Prophet Muhammad: The Blessed Light (Peace Be Upon Him)
“The Rabbis considered the Aramaic word Nehora, ‘light’, to be one of the secret names of the king Messiah, since we read in the Aramaic part of the book of Daniel that, “light dwells with Him” (2.22). Furthermore, on the strength of the prophecies of Isaiah 42:6 and 60:1-3 the Messiah is seen as “the light of the nations. And Nehora dwells with him.” This is the Messiah-King, for it is written: ‘Arise, shine, for your light has come'” (Is. 60:1) – (Risto Santala. The Messiah in the Old Testament, in the light of Rabbinical writings, Keren Ahvah Meshihit, Jerusalem, 1992).
Indeed, it is “THE LIGHT OF MUHAMMAD [PBUH] that illuminates the darkness of this world” – (Schimmel, op. cit., 1985, p. 124). It is true that the brilliant light of Prophet Muhammad (on whom be peace), before he was born
