whatever is in the heavens and the earth declares His glory; and He is the Mighty, the Wise – (Quran 59:24).
Thus, Islam is not a new religion. It is the same religion preached by Prophets from the times of Adam who was the first Muslim to submit his will to ALLAH. The Holy Quran represents “the ‘original’ as well as the ‘final revelation’ of the God of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (Peace be upon them)” (Esposito, op. cit., 1998, p.18).
ALLAH Witnesses Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)
Description in the Torah and the Gospel
ALLAH says to Moses (upon him be peace) when he beseeched Him and asked His forgiveness: “…With My punishment [O Moses] I visit whom I will; but My mercy† embraceth all things. That [Mercy] I shall ordain for those who do right, and practice regular charity, and those who believe in Our signs; – Those who follow the Messenger, the Ummi Prophet [Muhammad, upon him be peace], whom they find mentioned in their own [Scriptures], – in the Torah and the Gospel. He will enjoin on them that which is right and forbid them that which is wrong. He will make lawful for them all good things and prohibit for them only the foul; and He will relieve them of their burden and the fetters that they used to wear. Then those who believe in him, and honour him, and help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him: they are the successful” – (Quran 7:156-157).
“Mohammed (on whom be peace), is mentioned very often in the Quran”, says Muir “refers to those who held the scriptures in their hands as witness in favour of his mission. It is alleged that the Divine Books contained evidence in his favour, that their contents correspond with the Quran, that the honest and enlightened interpreters of their prophecies recognised him and his revelation, and rejoiced in the recognition” – (William Muir. The Corân, E & J. B. Young & Co., New York, 1878, p.225).
All the Prophets before his coming proclaimed his tidings to their respective nations with a firm and evident knowledge about him including his name being “Muhammad” and “Ahmad”, the praised and the glorious, on whom be peace. Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was the awaited mercy of the Scriptures of the world. For instance, it was said in the Hindu Scriptures concerning him: “Just at that time, a personage by name ‘Mohammad’ will appear with his followers in a desert country. O Lord of the desert, O Teacher of the world, Praise be to You. You know many ways to destroy the evils of the world. O the holy one, I am Your servant; please let me have a place at

† “God announces to Moses [pbuh]” avows Roberto Tottoli “that His mercy will reach those that follow the Arab Prophet who had already been announced in both the Torah and Gospel, and in another passage, Muhammad [pbuh] is evoked in intimate connection with the events and the revelations of Moses, thereby establishing a precise correlation between the two Prophets” – (Biblical prophets in the Qur’ān and Muslim literature, Routledge, Oxford, 2002, p.35).
